IT IS LOCATED 4 MILES FROM PUERTO PLATA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, THE TOWN IS ACCESSED PRIMARILY BY CAMINO CINCO, OR HIGHWAY 5, WHICH RUNS MUCH OF THE LENGTH OF THE COUNTRY'S NORTH COASTLINE. SOSUA IS DIVIDED INTO THREE SECTIONS: EL BATEY, WHICH IS THE MAIN SECTION WHERE TOURIST VISIT, SOSUA ABAJO, AND LOS CHARAMICOS EL BATEY WAS THE SETTLEMENT AREA OF APPROXIMATELY 500 OF THE 5000 GERMAN AND AUSTRIAN JEWISH REFUGEES FOR WHOM THE DOMINICAN GOVERNMENT ISSUED VISAS BETWEEN 1940 AND 1945. THE GOVERNMENT PROVIDED THEM WITH LAND AND RESOURCES WITH WHICH THEY CREATED A DAIRY AND CHEESE FACTORY, NAMED PRODUCTOS SOSUA, STILL IN EXISTENCE TODAY. DESCENDANTS OF THE ORIGINAL SETTLERS STILL LIVE IN SOSUA, WHERE THEY MAINTAIN A SYNOGOGUE AND A MUSEUM SOSUA ABAJO, WHICH TRANSLATES ROUGHLY TO "LOWER SOSUA", IS LOCATED ON THE WEST END OF SOSUA IN A VALLEY NEAR A RIVER THAT DUMPS INTO SOSUA BAY. IT IS A LESS COMMERCIAL, MORE RURAL AREA OF SOSUA, AND HOUSES MANY OF THE WORKERS WHO COMMUTE TO THE EL BATEY AREA, NEARBY CABARETE BAY AND PLAYA DORADA THE BARRIO OF LOS CHARAMICOS IS SITUATED BETWEEN EL BATEY AND ABAJO, AND IS A DENSELY POPULATED URBAN AREA KNOWN FOR ITS NIGHTLIFE, DANCING AND BAR SCENE THE NORTH COAST OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC HAS BEEN A TOP TOURIST DESTINATION FOR EUROPEANS FOR NEARLY THREE DECADES. | The place is really astonishing. I can't believe my eyes to see such wonderful places to stay. I never thought to see a very enticing beach resort and great hotels in Sosua. I can't wait to witness the real beauty of it. I want to check how to get some reservations in the best hotel in Sosua. They not only have preserved the beautiful spots of the place but also the historical places of it. |

| I really love beaches and one of the great beaches I have been in found in the great country Dominican Republic. I am planning to know much about that area. I love to be in that place as soon as possible. I am planning to go in one of the most famous is the Sosua beach and it will be very possible to enjoy that place as soon as possible. |
| That is really a great paradise to go to when you have much budget and time in that plan you have. Dominican Republic is a great place to start a great life for the people that are in great terms with me. I would love to spend my summer in that area and see the great deal I can have when I arrive there together with my love ones . |
| Dominican Republic is definitely a great place. It has a lot of interesting and beautiful spots and so as travel destinations that are perfect for the stay of the tourists. This is the reason why expats prefer to stay in Dominican Republic because this nation of Hispaniola knows how to give great accommodations and services to its people.
