Call centers There is a thriving industry with good jobs for bilinguals currently operating in the Dominican Republic: the call and customer service centers opening up all over the country. Many are located in the San Isidro Free Industrial Zone in eastern Santo Domingo, near the air base, but also in other areas and in the big cities, like Santiago. The main requirement is native tongue level English and Spanish and the availability to work weekends and night shifts. The operations never close down, no holidays or weekends. The pay is not luxurious, but it gets by. Expats wanting to work in the Dominican Republic must have their work visas and residence requirements fulfilled before thay can work. We understand that they are not hard to get. Good luck! |
