The country is full of hospitable, tender, family-oriented, loving people but you have to find them.Unfortunately the same cannot be said for many countries where wars, social strife, crime, etc. has taken a toll on people. Of course, the Dominican Republic too has had these misfortunes, but the people appear to have some innoculation that is preserving them from the consequences. Many expats have come to the country "for a weekend" twenty years ago, and never left again. This has been mainly due to a certain "seņorita" they met who wouldnīt let them leave again. |

So many idiots look for a "wife" online or through an agency. You'll meet the worst of the worst that way.You'll have a lot more fun and success by just going out and practicing your Spanish with anyone and everyone... develop some REAL friendships and then see what happens! |
